Bank accounts held by #Trump were closed by #CapitalOne in 2021 after it flagged financial activity that had characteristics of #MoneyLaundering, the bank disclosed in a court filing over the weekend. The filing is tied to a lawsuit filed against CapitalOne by one of Trump’s financial holding companies shortly after he was sworn into office a 2nd time. @Nonilex@masto.ai 1/ i was at one point a contract developer at BofA. despite the fact that i was no where near banking (either retail or wholesale), i was still required to take annual money laundering training - how to spot signs of it, and how to report it up the chain. i never knew what happened up the chain, but it was clear that it was taken very, very seriously.
