  @SrRochardBunson@universeodon.com Guns are a complicated subject. I grew up in the 1960s, Maryland rural, we had guns for hunting primarily, but also home defense. I’m not anti-gun, but we also don’t live in the Wild West. If you can believe the movies, some western frontier towns had gun control in the city limits. A lot of people in close proximity carrying guns is not a safe environment. The discussion could progress from there.

  SPOILER within… Very satisfied with For All Mankind (S5). When I was 15 (1968),  I was living the space race, just saw 2001 A Space Odyssey, and was looking forward to the 1st Moon base. Well, good thing I did not hold my breath. 😉 Although this show is alt-reality, it’s kind of like I imagined it could/would be. Now that life has been discovered, my understanding, maybe incorrect is that Season 6 will be the final season, story date maybe 2020, projected to released in 2027. #MastodonTV

  @LaNaehForaday@universeodon.com This has always been my complaint with this scrolling post format. A forum structure with listed threads is much easier means of keeping track. As you mentioned we follow people but it really means little other than letting them know someone considers them worthy of following.

  Need/want to lose 10lb? 50lb fairly simply? Try intermittent fasting. I’ve tried dieting repeatedly and it did not work, my weight kept creeping up. I’m 72 years old, 5’10”, starting in March 2025 I weighed 230lb, now I weigh 180lb.   4th July Weekend at a water park in Texas. 1st of all, not my idea, one of the many compromises of marriage, the stink’n hot beach in July fun? No thanks, hot, crowded, overcharged for the hotel room (Capitalist demand), one of the covered river loops, the top had gotten old and instead of replacing it, they left it down, in the sun. Thank goodness we rented a cabana and there is a breeze. A guy walks by with a t-shirt that says “I’m too old for this shit.” I wanted one of those shirts! 🙃

  Do you remember when housing was actually affordable for average Americans? Friends in Minneapolis recently paid $400k for a house that in 1995 sold for $150k. Personally from my monetary mindset, I can’t imagine the house payment. The house we (spouse and I) paid $210k for in 1993 is now valued at $600 (3000sf). Apartments?
