The speed of #climate change has accelerated dramatically in the last decade, from 0.2°C per decade from 1970 to 2015 to 0.35°C per decade over the past ten years. And politicians still fiddle while we burn. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/08/260801093239.htm

@petergleick@fediscience.org Remember, billionaires are building bunkers to protect themselves for the environmental collapse they intend to abandon us to. They know what's coming.

  • @petergleick@fediscience.org who wants to bet that 0.35 C a year raises drastically after this Super El Niño? Can we get it to 0.5 C next year and the subsequent years after and if so, do we keep insisting that it's, "sudden catastrophic climate change," or do we finally accept our role in all of this and that the models were false and Guy McPherson was right all along?
