most of my current playthrough has devolved into first strike superiority escalations.
Can I kill them with a large number of explosives? if so, dump howitzer shells and ATGMS on themCan they cause me any real harm? (e.g. do I let the razorwire death hall handle them, and just not bother
If saturation bombartment, turrets, or the razor wire death hall cannot handle them, I just do not engage. Combat Extended is brutal. Full armor, and sometimes my dudes still get one-shot.

the bug infestations are a lot of fun, however. The last one I had burrowed up into a classroom I had set up in the middle of my mountain base. My best meelee fighters just walked in and beat the shit out of like 20 bugs, in full locust armor. I had monoswords and power fists.

@da_667@infosec.exchange I didnt quite read the post when I first scrolled by it so I somehow thought you were talking about billionaires... "can I kill them with a large number of explosives" -> "Yeah, you probably don't NEED a large number but why would you ever show restraint" :D
