Admission requirements for the five-year integrated Computer Engineering degree programme at NTNU in Trondheim are being lowered for the fourth year in a row. Apparently, the uncertainty due to the AI craze is dampening young people's interest in the CE programme.

@me_@sueden.social I have quite mixed feelings about this. I am personally not a big fan of admission requirements in general. I think students can figure out themselves if the curriculum is not for them, especially if they struggle with the first courses already. OTOH, I always want to give curious minds a chance and support them. Otherwise, talent is wasted. It's that steady search for diamonds; they are not only found in kimberlites, though the high chance may be there.
