@me_@sueden.social I have quite mixed feelings about this.
I am personally not a big fan of admission requirements in general. I think students can figure out themselves if the curriculum is not for them, especially if they struggle with the first courses already. OTOH, I always want to give curious minds a chance and support them. Otherwise, talent is wasted. It's that steady search for diamonds; they are not only found in kimberlites, though the high chance may be there.

@CyReVolt@mastodon.social NTNU had about 4,000 applications for 600 places each year (over all programmes in CS/CE) when I was working there, so they definitely had to filter. They can certainly still fill all seats right now, but you no longer need to be absolute top-notch to get in.
