From Altman proclaiming the “singularity”, to the Guardian publishing blather about possible AI consciousness, to OpenAI and Anthropic blaming their cybercrimes on “rogue models” the nonsense is coming fast and thick these days and much of the media is lapping it up. @emilymbender@dair-community.social @alex@dair-community.social Gotta keep the hype machine running as long as possible. Because that's all they have is a story. OpenAI having to discount access because companies won't pay even close to what it costs for access should be a huge red flag.

And then there's the whole "please register to view this article - it's not a paywall" bs. Paying with tracking your PII and viewing interests is definitely a paywall, same as Facebook et al.
