  I've mentioned how I'm teaching myself programming as my defiant 40 yo midlife crisis. I think the infatuation a lot of software devs have with llm chatbots has a lot to do with their own inability to use human language, judging by the way they tend to write documentation.

  I have takes about neovim, dunno if they’re hot or what: 1: Buffers, windows and tabs are simple. There’s nothing confusing about them whatsoever. 2: Anyone trying to teach others how to configure neovim is doing a terrible job of conveying the basics because, I think, they don’t understand what that word means.

  Sure this is funny at face value but just under the surface, it reveals how everything relies on captive labor making things work at threat of unemployment. CEOs and investor class don’t need to know anything as long as they can coerce working class to make things. It’s also not hard to see why generative AI in particular is attractive to them at a virtually spiritual level.
