So around 60000 people coming from Morocco entered the Spanish enclave Ceuta yesterday. Almost 50000 have now returned to Morocco, without too much resistance, as it seems. Am I the only one thinking this looks like a planned action to put political pressure on Spain and the EU? Italy immediately fell for it and demands more border controls.

@jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net No, I have been thinking exactly the same. This is exactly the kind of move that Morocco tends to pull. There is no way such a lot of people could have massed there without the express consent of the Moroccan Kingdom. Sanchez went to Algeria. Spain is an old colonial occupier (arguably still is really, they have no real business being in Ceuta and Melilla) and Morocco is keen to support MAGA for their support of annexing the Western Sahara. The perfect storm really.
