@dlakelan@mastodon.sdf.org the amount of pendulum swings it takes for one star to raise from a fixed point on the horizon and a second. It'd take a bunch of trial and error, but you could get it down to "pendulum length of exactly 100 swings between these two stars is the unit of length"

@JessTheUnstill@infosec.exchange That's a very nice method for a time and a length, then you could use mass of water of unit volume as the mass.
