British people: I got given a Birds Trifle kit. Is it worth actually making?

@ukscone@cupoftea.social Absolutely. Birds is one of the staples of the traditional kitchen store cupboard. It should contain jelly cubes or powder, some 'instant whipped cream' and sprinkles for the topping. Add some fruit to the jelly if you want. It may also contain custard powder. The jelly goes at the bottom of a big bowl with the cold custard next and the faux cream on top. Top with sprinkles before serving. Dollop it out into bowls when set add (real) cream if you want to. Enjoy (or not - I never used to like the custard but do now)
