I’m sad to learn of the death of one of this country’s best historians, Erik Olssen. A great researcher, writer and teacher and also a very nice person. RIP.
The news hasn’t reached Wikipedia at the time I post this, but was in this morning’s ODT.

@simplicitarian@cloudisland.nz Oh no! His Caversham Project was a tremendous resource for genealogists and family historians of Ōtepoti. I know I used it quite a bit. Sad news indeed.
