When people point out that due to "AI" answers, traffic is down all over the web, I feel like they're sort of missing the point of why AI answers are bad.
The point of Google and other search engines, from my POV, was to help me find information.
Google has ruined finding information.

Possibly I'm wrong about this. Maybe my POV isn't the one that counts. Well, before the age of AI answers, we lived in the age of SEO slop. Not as bad as AI slop, but we still hated it. That's because Google changed their mission from helping people find information to helping people be found.
