I found myself thinking of Scum of the Earth a few years after seeing this episode when I learned how the IRL band Revolting Cocks got their name - story goes that's what a club owner called them when kicking them out after show they had just played gig there, never to be invited back.

@zazzoo@mstdn.ca The guy who plays Russian defector Ivan Papasonofasomething is also one of the arresting cops when Venus is suspected of being a jewel thief. Del Murdock of Del's Stereo and Sound comes back as Johnny's ex's about-to-be new husband. Sam Anderson plays airheaded DJ Rex Erhardt and the immigration agent they take Ivan to see (he also has a role in The New that I can't find right now). There are more.
