@ldottxt@kind.social (Sorry, autistic over-thinking clarifying question, possibly being pedantic but sincerely asking so I can understand and not trying to be a jerk) If I am disabled but not physically disabled, does that make me "able-bodied" since the disability isn't my body? Most of my body is able, it's my brain (which I guess is part of my body. But.)

@ldottxt@kind.social I'm not a native English speaker, and I don't know for sure the meaning, but using a little bit more of brain than usual, I think I can get the meaning. I'm also experiencing the first usual age-related disability.

@ldottxt@kind.social So for those who don't know, like me, what exactly is the disability tax? When i search for it i just see lots of things about income taxes for people with disability payments from the government.

Poll is closed now, so for those who don't know: "Disability tax" refers to everything being more expensive, more energy-consuming, more time-consuming, and generally more difficult for disabled people. The phrase "paying the disability tax" is often used with this concept - essentially that disabled people are forced to give more of themselves in multiple ways just to exist. Today you learned!
