@krutonium@social.treehouse.systems As someone that works at one of those and pushes internally, it's not a case of incompetence at all. It's a matter of an enormous amount of time, money and effort to support Linux. It's not simply a matter of just flipping a switch to allow it to run under wine/proton. They have to be able to verify that their anticheat supports Linux and works properly and that means a LOT more time and training up a fuckton of people to handle it. Until the marketshare of Linux gamers gets large enough to make the effort worthwhile, we're not going to see things change yet. Also, I think a lot of Linux gamers - myself included - are against the concept of kernel-level anticheat regardless, so that would mean engineering a whole other strategy, etc... I wish it was a simple easy thing, but it's really, really not, even in the case of anti-cheat solutions that have a Linux option already good to go.
