In 2017 #Bitcoin was projected to consume all the world's energy by 2020.
Somehow, magically, we got to 2020 and still had energy. So... what happened?
Bitcoin is literally a store of wasted electricity. The cost basis changes.
Don't get me wrong. #Crypto consumes large amounts of energy and a significant portion of data centers goes to it.
Crypto currently consumes ~150TWh of energy. #AI only now consumes ~150TWh of energy.
AI will continue to grow, crypto probably won't.

So, okay, that's bad. Right? Well, yes, but not the way you think it is. Energy being put toward things that are useful is good, in general. The problem? The world exists as a K-shaped economy. The interest of #billionaires is wildly overrepresented in the marketplace. I want to use the energy for a lawnmower, but I'm shopping in the same energy market at Jezz Bezos. Same with RAM, SSDs, Graphics Cards, chips. Billionaires control 4% of the world's wealth. Millionaires half of it. 6/
