@davidho@mastodon.world putting a sentient feeling creature in a tiny cage is torture, just imagine what you would think of a person who kept their cat in a tiny cage because then it runs around less and that way they can feed it less so it has a lower carbon footprint. If that's the conclusion we should stop consuming eggs.

@davidho@mastodon.world Leaves out the inconvenient truths of pesticide impact, biodiversity and animal welfare. Industrial poultry farming can only exist if we deny the birds any semblance of a life quality. Which makes us monsters.

@davidho@mastodon.world It really does serve as a good reminder that "organic" is more inefficient at everything though. I really do wish people could realize it's basically just a scam. I'll agree with consuming fewer eggs (and animals in general,) but as we consider climate change and other such things, we should also be wasting less all around. Like it's now more than ever that we need to start rejecting the scams.
