Comparing the first Welly water bills for the quarter as they start to land.... mines $518 for the quarter. Actually looking forward to a meter as I suspect mine will drop but we'll see. Friends/colleagues are seeing $700+ (incl pensioner).

@irix@cloudisland.nz Ours is $2500 per year. But our rates are going down about $1800 so it is a net increase of about $700. Still, it is shocking when I opened the email. It is because of years of underinvestment and of course NACT cancelling Three Waters because, you know, heaven forbid, we should honour Te Tiriti.

@irix@cloudisland.nz kinda amazed that it has taken this long in “you pay you play” obsessed NZ. Just as long as the water companies aren’t privatised. The scale of that disaster in the UK is really starting to come home to roost.
