I’m looking for a reference work on collecting small seeds. How early you can pick pods that shatter easily, tricks for containing seeds that you can’t pick pre shatter, how much a species? genus? is prone to inbreeding depression.
book or Extension publication, preferably. My current best is _Creative Propagation_, Thompson.

@clew@ecoevo.social check on the website of the heritage seed library, they have good material on there. If I find something else I'll get back to you

@clew@ecoevo.social No books, but I've dealt with some of those issues in the past. No easy answer on the 1st- you just have to get to know each species you are collecting- seeds must be ripe before collecting or they won't be viable and/or won't store. Some species you have to watch /check constantly or be really lucky (Geranium species were super hard for me...lol).
