@_elena@mastodon.social That is such a nice clean UI. One day I will jailbreak my old 7th generation Kindle.

@_elena@mastodon.social Thanks for sharing. A very nice read that motivates for a jailbreak. How do you solve the challenge to get your bought eBooks from Amazon to your jailbroken e-reader? Is it an option, before the jailbreak, to download all books to the Kindle and copy them away through USB storage or even Calibre? How do you handle ebooks that you buy on Amazon after your jailbreak? Or don't you buy there anymore? I'd like some sharing on this and pointers. Thanks.

@_elena@mastodon.social thanks for this, I already have KOreader on a jailbroken Kindle but had no idea the UI could be tweaked... I've also found ZenUI and I'll try them both...

@_elena@mastodon.social I'm on a 31 day streak at the moment...KOReader on a Kobo Clara BW. Such good software. I've been out from under Kindle for almost three years.

@_elena@mastodon.social I love KOReader. I use it on a Kobo, and find it much better than the native reading app.

@_elena@mastodon.social Modding is great. The usb port on my 13 y/o kindle can be used for charging, but I cannot transfer files. However, KOreader has a built-in ssh server that I use to just drag-n-drop files in a file manager. It gave my kindle a second life. Kudos to all modders who make it possible.
