80% of oil does *not* go through that strait so why the heck do we keep hearing about those 20% and why do they have 100% impact on our inflation rate?!

@Heliograph@mastodon.au About 15-20% does. A sharp drop of supply of that magnitude will lead to much higher prices. So far we've been mostly insulated from it by countries oil reserves, but those are not infinite.
