The chairmaggedon. The little known lesser plague of the Apocalypse, the plague of excess chairs.
1/2
I have been bringing good furniture into my new apartment from next to the dumpster, and looking on craigslist for free firewood (I have a fire place now!) and the single most numerous used or free thing people are getting rid of is chairs. After I moved I brought a chair with me, then bought 2 more, 1 for the balcony, 1 for camping. Now I have added 5 more, each nicer than the last.

2/2 I mean, it is literally ridiculous. I turn down and pass by nice sets of chairs weekly. I see chairs on the curb. Someone, on Craigslist 2 days ago, was paying anyone $15 to take his chair. I have a rocking chair, a firm wooden kitchen chair, a bar stool with back rest, a papasan for the balcony across from my morning tea sitting chair. I was in Goodwill Sunday and took a picture of 20 chairs they couldn't get rid of. The population is leveling off, and now we have excess seating.
