dear marketing people: if you make your developers add spontaneous notifications to your app, most people will immediately turn off all notifications for your app forever (best case), or just uninstall the app entirely (easiest case)

@Tak I was using a body measurement app where you can specify when you want to do the measuring each week via a notification. But they will also hit you with an action notification any old day new weight data flows in. They were not granular enough with notifications. I brought this up to the devs, and they said it was by design. I turned off all of the app notifications and shortly after deleted the app, even with an unexpired subscription. They lost me as a user and revenue source.

@Tak The twist ending is that uninstalling the app entirely is the best case.
