@anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz "Chinese" is an odd framing here, and kind of misses the most important bit. The jewelry in question will be widely resold on lots of platforms, Chinese and otherwise (the investigation also found it on Amazon, after all), so this really doesn't help to identify it. And it's also been known for quite some time now that the shadier piercing/tattoo shops throughout at least Europe also often use products contaminated/faked in the same way, and there you *definitely* won't know where they bought the stuff.

@joepie91@fedi.slightly.tech Fair, but it's kind of difficult to be more precise with this, and it seems to specifically be chinese-sourced silverwares that are affected by it. These could be sold at many different places; Amazon, Temu, AliExpress, Bol, eBay, you name it. Just saying 'Chinese'(-made) seemed to be the most straightforward way to communicate it, as much as I understand not everyone will know what to look for.
