@codinghorror@infosec.exchange Okay, but I think you’ve slightly missed my point. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but if it’s true, why would someone on the side of LLM-users be making that claim?
Like, at this point it would obviously be silly of me to expect their ethical choices to align with my preferences when they’ve been completely misaligned so far.
But why would someone announce that the group they belong to and support cannot be trusted to behave honestly?

@benjamineskola@hachyderm.io I dunno man, I've seen lots of people railing against LLMs while also using the crap out of them. My feeling is they are tools, like screwdrivers, with pros and cons, and certain things they are good at and other things they aren't so good at. Did you know that people often lie about selling their blood because they are ashamed? Maybe shame is a factor here too.
