@deinol@dice.camp I last played AD&D in the early 90s, so not quite as long ago as you're asking but still a heck of a long time ago - I cannot honestly remember how (if?) we handled initiative. I can barely remember how THAC0 worked. Frankly I feel like that's probably a good thing :)

@deinol@dice.camp Adnd1e we played simple d6 side initiative. Adnd2e we rolled individually, I remember it was my first time actually using weapon speed rules.

@deinol@dice.camp Eldritch Wizardry, and Holmes D&D Basic set have individual, DEX-bases initiative. But Basic D&D went back to side init, and AD&D's system as written is insanely complicated, unplayable nonsense. I switched to Palladium & RoleMaster. #ttrpg #dnd #osd #adnd
