Our soldiers wander into the surprisingly mowed woods and hear some Giant Locust Noises. Then a giant locus appears and eats one of them off camera. It advances toward them and so they jog away from it, shooting it with their World War II vintage guns, but it appears to be immune to bullets. Eventually they drive off, still shooting at it.

The army captain... oh wait this guy's a colonel... the army colonel has declared war on the locusts. He is asking for artillery and air support. The bug scientist warns him that the locusts are too powerful and cannot be defeated by the puny weapons of man and believes that the end of humanity is on hand.
