We learn the chatty scientist is actually a bug scientist but you must study the plants to study the bugs. He notices a lack of insects on the ground. Then he looks backwards and A Giant Grasshopper Looking Thing appears, then eats the mute scientist off camera. RIP.
The reporter and the surviving scientist drive off.

We drive to the army office, then barge in and yell "Giant Locusts destroyed the Town!" The army captain is like "what, no." Then the chatty scientist is like "oh no this is my fault, a normal locus ate some of my giant plants and must have turned into a giant locust." Unaware that he's in a monster movie, the army captain does not believe him, but he agrees to send a truck full of soldiers to look for it anyway. #monsterdon #BeginningOfTheEnd #GrasshoppersVsPostcards
