@apzpins@some.apz.fi they were iptables related. I think I figured it out though; there's a docker package in the standard fedora repos, but there's a different, more official (?) build from a different repo that's the 'correct one'.
I miss slackware 3.x, I used to know my way around this stuff in the 2.0 kernel days...

@forty2@oldbytes.space I have similar sentiment. While I get the Docker's idea, it has completely turned into a lot of pieces of software into black boxes where you can just do stuff like install a PHP based program and the black magic also adds a web server with PHP enabled, databases and all, with the person setting it up having zero idea of how everything interacts or how to even begin with diagnosing it should it break. Now excuse me while I go outside to yell at a cloud.
