@morrick@appdot.net There should be a good enough reason and large + good enough impact. So far we got annoying cookie bars, less info from Google Maps for stuff we search for, trouble with access to AI on iOS and Android, and trouble with interoperability between Apple devices.
I don’t mind Apple doing well with Apple devices. I don’t mind Google putting their results higher. I would be happy with opting out from the European Commission bullshit.

@jirirbr@mastodon.design The annoying cookie bars come from websites that, instead of quietly respecting data privacy, choose to present the user with the option of accepting or rejecting cookies, making the process annoying, and so everyone blames the regulators. Which, with the GDPR, seem the only ones who care about user data protection. Google Maps: I haven’t noticed any reduction in functionality. AI: I’m too biased against it to have an honest answer here. Ultimately, we’ll have to agree to disagree.
