@jirirbr@mastodon.design The annoying cookie bars come from websites that, instead of quietly respecting data privacy, choose to present the user with the option of accepting or rejecting cookies, making the process annoying, and so everyone blames the regulators. Which, with the GDPR, seem the only ones who care about user data protection. Google Maps: I haven’t noticed any reduction in functionality. AI: I’m too biased against it to have an honest answer here. Ultimately, we’ll have to agree to disagree.

    @morrick@appdot.net Happy to disagree, just one regarding the cookies: I feel like websites often default to use it just to make sure they comply, even when not necessary. However, I totally agree those bars or popups could (and should) be much more user-friendly. This part definitely shouldn’t be blamed on the regulator. 👍
