@johnofrobotz@mastodon.girolab.foo fedi infrastructure is too expensive to scale beyond westerner who are tech savy, rich or well connected. In it's current form it is vowed to turn into fodder for corporate AI training. This is not my wish. It is the sad reality. Fediverse is awesome purely because of it's people. I reaöly hope they'll see what I see without having tp learn the hard way.

Fedi infra is super cheap, a server can run on basically any computing device. The network has 30000 servers today and it can easily scale to millions.

@johnofrobotz if we are to stand a chance, we need to organize on cheap and resilient infrastructure. I keep https://s.basspistol.org alive because I don't want to disposses my people from their identity until they come through. But I despise being the custodial of their creative output. No one should be such a custodial. But in reality, I'm just renting it all from a domain name registrar.
