I wonder how long one has to huff the fumes from one's own privilege to actually believe that people wind up in the upper reaches of established political power because of knowledge and experience. No. You wind up in those levels of power because your values and behaviors fit the nature of the corrupt system that filters out everyone else who does not. You are the dregs that the system filters for. As the saying goes, the crap floats to the top of the cistern.
