I know it's common advice for people to give out a fake number if they don't want to give their actual one but the fact of the matter is that you don't know whose life you're going to fuck with if you do that. There are so many ways that can go wrong. In my life currently, for example, someone has given my number out for some sort of mortgage purposes so now I'm signed up for a realty/mortgage scam that has been coming in a couple of times a day for the past week. The area code and first three are the same number but the last four are always different. My spam protection blocks the calls but then they go to voicemail and I get the notification sound, usually when I'm trying to sleep. I have yet to find a way to block spam calls from leaving voicemails on my current phone setup. If you must give out a fake number, memorize your local PD's non emergency number and give that. Or your local FBI office. Somewhere that deserves to get spam calls, and not some random person you don't know. Don't mind me, this is my daily "shaking fist at clouds and yelling about my lawn" moment. #Scams #Scammers #PhoneSpam
