I've been working on ways to improve the air quality in my house, which includes monitoring, so I bought open source indoor/outdoor monitors from AirGradient, a Thai company. Just want to report that I have gotten both monitors set up and I'm super duper impressed with the kits and the process. I've put together quite a few kits and these were among the easiest and best documented. The way they handle privacy is impressive, and the process has been perfect. 1/x #SelfHost #ClimateCrisis #FOSS

  • The @homeassistant@fosstodon.org integration was automatic and is one of the best I've seen. You are absolutely not required to send data to AirGradient in any way. If you want to keep everything totally local, you can. I've decided to contribute my data to the maps because I respect how they've handled all this so well. The monitors shipped from Thailand to the U.S. in under a week with no extra BS. I just got this set up today, so no long-term feedback, but so far so good! 2/2 #solarpunk
