This kind of thing gets me riled up. Questions like this are malformed for a variety of reasons, starting with the idea that "bugging out" is a realistic thing for which you should prepare, and that a knife of some sort is an appropriate thing to put in a so-called "bugout bag". #survival #preparedness #knives #BugoutBags

@gcvsa@mstdn.plus Beyond the "ask stupid questions" aspect. . . Bro and his four buddies don't need duplicate bags if they're bugging out together. If you don't know what specific features of the knife (or whatever product) you're looking for, you're shopping for the wrong item. Because if you needed it, you'd know what features you would need, and your question{s) would be specific.

The concept of a #bugoutbag is a very common and popular one, when thinking about #survival and #preparedness, the first thing you should do is assess actual #risks. The likelihood of facing an actual #evacuation scenario is infinitesimal for anyone who doesn't live in a place with frequent natural #disasters and very small for those who do. Growing up on the East Coast, hurricane evacuations aren't unheard of. Once, while I was at college in PGH, there was a train derailment/chemical spill.
