Normalize discussing mistakes in a way that doesn’t sound like moral judgement.

    @adhdeanasl@beige.party my motto was, "look for the solution." I used to be in private contracting. My counterpart on the federal side was a peevish career fed who always seemed to want to find scapegoats to blame. She said this overtly one time when we had some sort of slip-up on a contract task and I said, "I'd like to focus on finding solutions here," and she actually said with her mouth-hole, "no, I want to find out who's to blame!" I later ended up working with her as a fed when I joined government.

    @adhdeanasl@beige.party I can't believe you'd say that publicly!

    @adhdeanasl@beige.party in my last corporate gig, I said to our exec team "I'm not interested in assigning blame. If a small mistake can take down the system, the system is broken." They let me go.
