Starting Aug 17, Atlassian gives itself the right to scrape your data for AI/ML training purposes: https://letsdatascience.com/news/atlassian-enables-default-data-collection-to-train-ai-f71343d8

@gvwilson@mastodon.social Atlassian I promise you don't need this much data to learn how to improve your product. A lot of people would be happy to tell you, in detail, maybe even for free.

@gvwilson@mastodon.social So the mobile version of this page I have an option to do not sell my data...but because that button opens a second modal underneath the first I cannot press accept on the do not sell my data form. I love the internet we have created.

@gvwilson@mastodon.social Yeah. This shit is infuriating. I don't write documentation in Confluence for use as training data for an LLM, I do it to help my human coworkers. Considering some white text poison but I know some coworkers use dark mode.

@gvwilson@mastodon.social If only companies just quit this stuff right away.

@gvwilson@mastodon.social dude! This is egregious in general. But a lot of people use confluence for documentation that took blood, sweat, and tears to create. In seconds that’s given to an AI that will make money for a company that’s already making money from the people using it. JFC.
