Good morning (or evening) fellow #WebDev friends!
I have officially kicked off a new "ecosystem” of #HTML first, vanilla #JS adjacent tools I am calling Heartml.
And we now have a website!
https://www.heartml.dev
The first library, a helper for building web components called Reciprocate, came out a while back but its been newly homed here.
And the new library(ies) I've been plugging away at since last year is finally here!

Ride The Streetcar lets you drive surgical state changes to your frontend DOM & JS objects from any backend ( #Ruby & #JavaScript supported at launch ). It's fully compatible with standard fetch techniques as well as htmx via a custom extension. Only 2kB minzipped with 0 dependencies! If you've ever used something like Hotwire Turbo, this will feel familiar. I once wrote about a pattern I called Action Web Components…this is the evolution of that to a library! https://www.heartml.dev/2026/07/22/ride-the-streetcar-all-aboard/ 2/2
