IIRC, the previous admin of transfem.social defederated lemmy.world after I made a public post saying "how can I report a specific Lemmy community for transphobia," and she decided it was bad enough to defederate the entire instance.
(The post is now deleted from me purging my account, but IIRC it was the World News lemmy.world community, and there were a lot of upvoted transphobic comments in response to an article about trans people which the lemmy.world admins and community mods weren't doing anything about.)

@2something@transfem.social Hn. We will look into it. We defederated with lemmygrad(dot)ml and Lemmy(dot)ml long ago; if it seems like .world is unmoderated or poorly moderated (or admins are engaging in behavior themselves) when we look, then we will act. @ahrienby@social.criminallycute.fi
