Thinking of how insanely complicated we have made using computer languages. I'm particularly thinking of low-barrier scripting languages in the late 1990s (Perl, Python, Javascript, R, ...).
Very few people use Perl today, Python and Javascript are dependencies dumpster fires, and R is likely the easiest to install and maintain these days.
Programming feels broken.

@ojala@mastodon.nz I can do almost everything I want to in R these days. If I needed something else, I'd probably go back to Perl.
