@rooster@beige.party No I do not think it is a legal requirement but a registration number is required by all states In California a sail boat under 8 feet does not, nor does one using people power but anything with a motor does regardless of size. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/vehicle-registration/new-registration/register-your-boat-vessel/
