"What's the colour of money" - Hollywood Beyond He's got a sharp suit, a clear image (dreadlocks, shades), and a distinctive song. Breaks down a little during the instrumental break. Mark Rogers and his backing band tap into a very 1986 sound: fast percussive beats, a stacatto vocal line with brisk syllables, with the melody mostly reserved for the chorus. Looked a bit like Prince, sounded like all those American hits that don't do much over here... ...and that was Hollywood Beyond's problem. The album, "If", was diverse soul-funk-rock with some jazz thrown in, but the band was not right for 1986. They were either three years too late, or eight years too early.
