"So macho" - Sinitta Gay disco, shot with a family-friendly video taking the piss out of strong men by rejecting professional weaklings. The psychiatrist is played by Mike Savage who we knew from Eureka!, and as Roland Browning's father in Grange Hill. Sinitta was already big in musical theatre, dated David Essex, produced by Simon Cowell, and had failed to win the BBC's 1984 selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. This wasn't her first time on #TOTP, either, having been one of the retained dancers during 1983-4. #Sinitta

Oh, let Lord Gary wave his flag, it's far more interesting than Peter. "Smile" - Audrey Hall. Very light reggae, the "lover's rock" style is here produced by Sly and Robbie. Sadly, it's so light that it floats away in the breeze. "I didn't mean to turn you on" - Robert Palmer. The video's a carbon copy of his previous hit "A dickhead in love", same intention to make Robot out as the best lover since Casanova, so hot that he accidentally makes people want him. And that's just ludicrous: he's less attractive than a mug of hot cocoa. Cherelle (of "Saturday love" fame) had done the song first, and we can believe she'd want to end a hook-up partway through. #TOTP #RobertPalmer
