Go see Hadestown! The original cast recording is in movie theaters and it is fucking amazing! I have listened to every version of Hadestown since it began as a concept album over a decade ago. I have seen the traveling cast live. And yet, this still got me. I laughed and cried and felt inspired. Go see it!

Also, one of the Fates in this production was played by Allie Daniel, a trans woman! She is big, curvy, and campy…I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so much like I saw a performer on stage whose shoes I could imagine being in. She was brilliant and her deeper resonance capacity does something otherworldly to the Fates’ songs.
