I’m a software developer, not a social scientist. And though my bias is to turn everything into a technical problem, I doubt there’s a way to “change culture” AND give people freedom at the same time.
I’m on the hunt for tools that make it easy to behave like a functioning adult who’s gone to therapy, and make it hard to behave like a goblin with a megaphone.

@benpate@mastodon.social @thisismissem@hachyderm.io I'm branching now and I'll get back to the DM you sent me and comment in GitHub, but the strategic application of just the right amount of friction into the UX is really underappreciated. The goblins are out there, your megaphone might be picked up, but if it has a little design element of some goblin-offending colour choice that non-goblins look at and think "huh, odd, but doesn't bother me none..." that's a good move.
