@ajn142@infosec.exchange Not sure why a login would make a difference. May be worth checking the device signature. Jamf Pro won’t let a computer communicate with it if it’s broken. Easy to check. Open Terminal while logged in as a local administrator and run this to force an inventory update: sudo /usr/local/bin/jamf recon At the end you’ll see either a successful connection or a failure. Also, what macOS version? Also, are you on-prem or using Jamf Cloud? Latest version in 11.30 or so.

    @talkingmoose@mastodon.social cloud, and I need to look at the device OS and other properties some more for commonalities. I didn’t have hands on this device, but the tech and macadmin told me that it was healthy once they logged in, just not logged in. I’m the infosec guy, so I’m not too sensitive about “this jank app” requires a logged in user to install, but having a device miss “all” management for 6 months just because they left it hooked up on a desk and haven’t refilled the position is kinda scary.
