    Today was our last day patrolling for ICE near our local elementary school. Packed away my day-glow yellow vest and whistle in a cubbyhole in the car. Appreciative of all the waves, thumbs ups, honks, fist bumps, and handshakes from the community members over the last few months. I loved when folks rolled down their windows and slowed down so I could see them smiling and waving. Stay vigilant, folks. This isn&amp;#39;t over. But it&amp;#39;s a milestone. #ICEOut #Minnesota #StPaul

    When the pandemic hit, people managers suddenly lost their ability to see butts in chairs at the office, which was mistaken as “productivity”. Now, they’re trying to replicate that same mistake by forcing employees to use AI so they can measure token usage. Mmmmyess… Quantity over quality is the hallmark of success. Also known as the spaghetti factor.

    I see a lot of videos customers (and co-workers) provide to show technical problems they&amp;#39;re experiencing. But instead of using their words (narration), they think grossly wagging the cursor at different parts of the screen allows me to read their thoughts.

    Since getting chosen to present my workshop “How to edit your terrible tech writing” at MacAdmins Conference at Penn State, I&amp;#39;ve written six pages of notes and ideas. Just finished throwing them into sticky notes in Freeform on my computer to help me organize thoughts and topics. Writing the presentation and putting together the Keynote slides has usually been time consuming but easy.     Apple announced it will celebrate its 50th anniversary over the next few weeks, “reflecting on the company’s history and values”. Interestingly, Tim Cook doesn’t mention values in the letter he posted. When I search the page for “values”, I find in small type at the bottom Apple’s values, which list “Inclusion and diversity” and “Racial equity and justice”. Might be a good time for Cook to reflect on who he’s associating with, supporting, and empowering. https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2026/03...

    After changing out our home router, our Wi-Fi connected garage door opener lost connectivity, even though the SSID was the same. Decided to spend a few minutes today to troubleshoot. Followed instructions in the app. My phone would connect to the opener&amp;#39;s internal SSID, but it couldn&amp;#39;t find any networks. Took a chance and viewed the IP address it assigned my phone. Then opened a browser and entered the address. Boom! It had a webpage to let me configure Wi-Fi directly. #netwo...

    Responded to an ICE alert yesterday at an apartment complex next to an elementary school in Saint Paul. The complex is predominantly Somali and there have been abductions by ICE. Spoke with a resident and he confirmed they abducted someone again and quickly left. Their operations still continue here, even if news about them has quieted. 1/2 #Minneapolis #Minnesota #StPaul #ICEOut

    Every storefront in a community is a member of that community. When a community is under attack, members come to each other’s aid. Today, protesters planned nearly 40 Target store sit-ins across the U.S. to protest ICE. Target was founded in Minnesota. It became a national chain. Yet its leadership allows ICE to come on premises and illegally arrest its workers. It caves to anti-gay rhetoric and threats. It straddles a fence doing nothing.
