@adron@metalhead.club Interesting - although the US focus makes it less relevant for the UK, it is still true.
We have destroyed third places. Because they Could Make More Money.
And yet, they are precisely the places where Making More Money is Not The Point.
(Sorry about all the capitals. I Just Started and Couldn't Stop).

@SteveClough@metalhead.club no worries, and sadly, in all my trips to the UK I noticed the same and was bummed. Pressure on everything from neighborhood pubs to milking $$ out of places that ought not be. It's wild how much of the world right now really is facing a lot of the same damnable problems!
